Clinical Services - Medical Specialists

Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP)

The Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program (MSOAP) brings much needed specialist medical services to our region. Currently the following specialists provide services to GP referred patients under this program;

  • Dr Kipling Walker, Psychiatrist: Practices from Peel Health Care 2 days every 6 weeks (8 visits per year). Dr Walker sees DVA patients, Worker’s Compensation and general patients and will only see patients aged 16 and over. Dr Walker also attends our Mental Health Small Group Learning meetings when he can.
  • Dr Eoin Wilson, Psychiatrist: Practices from Peel Health Care 1 day each week (32 visits till 30 June 2010). Dr Wilson is happy to see patients for assessment and treatment (whether under medicare, workcover or the DVA) or for the provision of a 12-month psychiatric management plan. Ongoing services beyond 30 June 2010 will be dependant on funding availability.
  • Dr Matthew Jones, Psychiatrist: Practices from Peel Health Care 1 day every 6 weeks ( 8 visits per year). Dr Jones is a forensic specialist, but while in Tamworth he sees all general adult patients aged 18 years and over.
  • Dr Ilana Ginges, Rheumatologist: Practices from Dr James Croker’s rooms 2 days per month (12 visits per year).
  • Dr Mark Collins, Rheumatologist: Practices from Dr James Croker’s rooms 2.5 days per month (12 visits per year).
  • Dr Gordon Dandie, Neurosurgeon: Consults from Dr James Hughes’ rooms 2 days per month (12 visits per year). Dr Dandie performs surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
